Ultimate Sri Lanka Tour: Sigiriya, Galle & Tropical Shores

Board your scheduled overnight flight to Colombo International Airport.

Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for you to relax and explore at your leisure.

Leave the capital and journey south to the historic city of Galle, where a guided tour of the 18th-century Dutch-built Galle Fort reveals colonial architecture, boutique galleries, and spice-scented cafés. After lunch, travel to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve—Sri Lanka’s last major rainforest—for a two-night stay in a scenic chalet overlooking rice paddies and tea gardens, with time to explore the tranquil estate on foot.

Start your day with an early morning walk through the forest along a bird and butterfly trail, where you’ll encounter a variety of endemic flora and fauna. After a well-earned breakfast, you’ll have more time to explore this UNESCO-listed rainforest, immersing yourself in its natural beauty. Additional guided walks can be arranged locally for a fee. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner prepared with fresh ingredients sourced from the lodge's own gardens.

Today, you will leave the tropical lowlands of Sinharaja and journey into the mountainous heart of Sri Lanka, heading to Nuwara Eliya, also known as the "City of Light." On your way, stop at the inspiring Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawe, a rehabilitation center dedicated to orphaned elephants, where they are cared for and prepared for eventual release back into the wild. Upon reaching Nuwara Eliya, enjoy a visit to a tea estate and factory nestled in the hills, where you’ll get an in-depth look at the entire tea production process.

This morning, enjoy a tour of Nuwara Eliya, passing British-style red post boxes, the charming Victoria Park, the 18-hole golf course, and the pink-bricked Victorian post office. Afterward, travel to Passikudah, passing through the small village of Mahiyangana. Upon arrival in Passikudah, check into your hotel for the next two nights. The largely undiscovered eastern coast of Sri Lanka is home to some of the best beaches on the island, featuring pristine white sands and crystal-clear, shallow turquoise waters.

Enjoy a full day at leisure, unwinding on the stunning Passikudah beach. For diving and snorkelling enthusiasts, explore the vibrant coral gardens, full of colorful fish. Alternatively, take the opportunity to relax and recharge, lounging with a good book while enjoying the serene surroundings.

Depart early this morning to visit the breathtaking Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 5th century. Climb the steps carved into the rock face to reach the summit, or enjoy the panoramic views of the ancient citadel and surrounding jungle from the lily-pad-covered moats encircling the rock. Continue your journey to Innamaluwa for a visit to a spice garden, where you can indulge in a relaxing foot massage. Afterward, head to Waikkal for your overnight stay, with a lunch stop in Dambulla along the way. Please note: Photography is not allowed in certain areas of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, and these areas will be clearly marked.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Colombo Airport for your flight back home.
