SRI LANKA 2

Wild Heritage of Sri Lanka

International flight to Colombo.

Arrive and transfer to your hotel for a one-night stay.

Drive to Habarana and enjoy a 3-night stay at your hotel.

Visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which towers 200 meters above the surrounding scrub jungle and was once the heart of a 70-hectare fortified town. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the countryside, though the climb is steep and, in parts, quite narrow.

Explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, where you can visit the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya, and the Parakrama Samudraya Lake. Next, head to Minneriya National Park, a sanctuary for elephants, deer, leopards, sloth bears, and crocodiles, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.

Drive to Kandy for a 2-night stay at your hotel. En route, visit the Popham Arboretum and the Dambulla Caves, which are believed to date back to the 1st century BC when King Valagam Bahu sought refuge there after being driven out of Anuradhapura.

Enjoy a day at leisure, or visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. Covering 60 hectares, it is the largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka, offering a stunning variety of plants and tranquil surroundings.

On your way to Kothmale, stop to visit Kandy’s Temple of the Tooth, a historical site dating back to the 16th century, accessed through two doors featuring mythical beasts. Stay for two nights at your hotel.

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the scenic tea fields, majestic temples, and beautiful waterfalls, either on foot or by bike.

Drive to Yala and enjoy a 2-night stay at your hotel. Yala is Sri Lanka’s largest and most visited national park, featuring a diverse landscape of dry woodlands, light forests, grasslands, and lagoons. This unique environment is home to the park’s main attraction—the elusive leopard.

Today, embark on morning and afternoon wildlife safaris, seeking a variety of animals—from elephants roaming the open plains to vibrant birds darting among the trees.

Drive to Galle and enjoy a 2-night stay at your hotel.

Explore Galle Fort, which once served as a key stop on the trade route between Arabia and China. Built in the late 16th century by the Portuguese, it was later destroyed and rebuilt by the Dutch in 1640. Today, Galle Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich in history and architectural beauty.

Drive to Wadduwa, a peaceful stretch of coastline close to a small fishing community. Spend two nights at your hotel, enjoying the serene surroundings.

At leisure.

Drive to Colombo and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
