Take a drive to the ancient city of Anuradhapura, which served as Sri Lanka's capital for 1,400 years and is home to remarkable Buddhist shrines and relics.
In the afternoon, visit Mihintale, the sacred site where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka.
In the morning, visit the spectacular rock fortress of Sigiriya. Afterward, continue to explore Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka's 11th-century capital.
Proceed to the picturesque hill station of Kandy and settle in for a 2-night stay at the hotel. This evening, enjoy a captivating traditional Kandyan dance performance and attend the evening Puja at the sacred Temple of the Tooth.
Kandy is nestled along the shores of a stunning man-made lake, surrounded by lush, diverse plant life. In the morning, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, followed by an afternoon at your leisure to relax and explore the area.
Board the train to Nanu Oya, then continue to Nuwara Eliya to visit a charming tea plantation. Situated at an altitude of 1,880 meters above sea level, Nuwara Eliya was a favourite retreat for the British in the 18th century, and their influence can still be seen today. Enjoy a 2-night stay at the hotel.
Embark on an early morning visit to Horton Plains, located on Sri Lanka’s highest plateau (this excursion includes a 2.5-hour walk). The area is home to abundant wildlife, including monkeys and sambar deer. Afterward, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Visit the stunning Rawana Ella Falls and the impressive Buduruwagala statues. Afterward, drive to Yala and enjoy a 2-night stay at the hotel.
